Plastic Grey Knights (Part 3)

And here we have some of the actual Metal Grey Knight models. Nothing much to say here, just posting them to compare to the plastic variety seen below.

Plastic Grey Knights (Part 2)

Here we have some of the custom Grey Knights all painted up. The lucky ones who got a back banner would be the unit Justicars. All in all, I tried to give each Knight an individual feel, right down to posing and the fact that each of them have a unique name on their shoulder pad.

The painting was overly easy, just a lot of detail to cover.

The armor is Boltgun, given a watered down Azual Blue wash, the gold is Shining Gold (which by the way is the only one I will use), and the red is Malachite Red (basecoat, another great color from GW).

Plastic Grey Knights (Part 1)

Here are the initial builds of my plastic Grey Knights army. It was a long and hard project, but it was great to complete it.

Basically, the marines where made from Black Templar bits, Command Squad bits, and basically anything that had long flowing garments and tabards. Early on the heads where filed down marine heads laced with Plasticard masks... I ended up not liking this effect so I painstakingly hunted down enough Mark III/Dark Angels/Black Templar heads (the knight style vented helms).

The weapons are made from Dark Elf Spears from Warhammer Fantasy. The Stormbolters are from anywhere I could get them, mainly Terminator arms people had laying around.

Plague Tower of Nurgle

Above we have my Plague Tower of Nurgle, which was made from a widened Land Raider (plasticard base) and a random tower I found around our game store.

The cannons where made from PVC pipe bits found at any hardware store.

Tachikoma Khorne Defiler

Personally, this is one of my favorite conversions. I just love this little guy! In my head, as juvenile as it may sound, I just imagine the Ghost in the Shell tachikoma voices going "Teehee, Skulls for the Skull Throne!"

This little guy was made from a Tau Piranha with Defiler body. The back "hatch/cargo" area was made from another item I love using: PVC piping (in this case the end mount).

You can find lots of great stuff at your local ACE Hardware or equivalent. I believe the hatch here set me back some 88 cents.

Chaos Rhinos

Just some Chaos Rhinos of the Khorne and Nurgle variety. The Nurgle ones made just like my converted Plague Marines and the Khorne Rhinos have no conversions, heh heh. Just a simple blood splatter technique which I'll post about individually.

Converted Nurgle Marines

Here are some custom-made Nurgle Plague Marines, complete with converted Rhino. These where achieved by using a pin-vice to drill some bullet wounds and an exacto-knife for armor chinks. The rot was made using standard basing flock and greenstuff.

Here is an image before painting to better see what was used:

And here are some finished ones. The painting was very easy as well. Surprisingly, they where done almost entirely with Goblin Green, White, and heavy use of the GW Wash kit. The entire army took about four days to do, not counting conversion.
